our mission

Good Shepherd exists to seek and serve the lost and hurting as God's representatives in the world. Our goal is to feed people (members and non-members alike) with the Word of the Lord - that they may know Jesus Christ and tend to the needs of those around them. We emphasize Community: the fellowship of believers who gather at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, demonstrating a Christ-like attitude with our words and actions.

what we believe & teach

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired and unerring Word of God and the only source for teaching & practice.
  • We believe that there is only one true God: the Triune God - Father, Son & Holy Spirit, three persons in one Divine Being.
  • We believe that all people are sinners and cannot be saved by their own efforts.
  • We believe that by grace (God's undeserved love) alone, God sent His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for our sins on the cross.
  • We believe that mankind is saved alone through faith in Jesus as Savior from sin.
  • We believe that God approaches us in both tangible & spiritual ways. The Sacraments of Baptism & Communion communicate forgiveness to us, from God Himself.
  • We believe that the Christian faith will express itself in a life of dedication in worship, love and service to God and our fellow man.
  • We believe that Jesus Himself directs His followers to worship together, participate in Holy Communion together, and to serve our community and world with the Gospel message.
