Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

That's right, Good Shepherd is celebrating their 50th year, with events in the coming months that culminate in a HUGE event on April 25th, 2010. 

As part of this event, we're seeing some decorating changes around the building: Fellowship Hall is being painted, along with the addition of baffling and possible new lighting; window screening on the Mother's Room window, featuring a picture of Jesus, the Good Shepherd; and, cleaning up the walls in the classrooms.

Also, part of this event: several former pastors are coming for the day or weekend. Please make some time to visit with these guys and talk about old times!

With new things coming up on a regular basis, we'll keep up-to-date in this spot. Thanks for checking in! 

WHAT:           Chili Challenge

WHERE:        Hutchinson Mall

NEEDED:      Participants (friends, neighbors, families, businesses) interested in friendly competition!

Get a group of friends or co-workers together to find out, “WHO HAS THE BEST CHILI?!”

§         You will cook your chili from 8:00 a.m. till 12 noon, at which time the chili is judged.

§         The meat is the only ingredient that can be pre-cooked. 

§         All other ingredients must be prepped & assembled on site.

§         A minimum of an 18-quart roaster batch of chili is required.

§         Decorations & themes are your choice

§         Bowls will be provided.

§         Tickets will be sold:  $6.00 for adult and $4.00 for children 10 years of age & under – taste all the chili and vote for your favorite!!

COOKBOOKS are finished! Let me explain: There are 6 DIFFERENT cookbooks, each focusing on a specific type of food - main course, soups, appetizers, breads, desserts and maybe another main course, I forget. Anyway, these will be available for purchase very soon, and they absolutely are available for ordering RIGHT NOW! Orders can be taken online (see our web store) or by calling the church office.

WINDOW SCREENING has been completed on the Mother's Room window. It will allow people in that room to see out, while those who are sitting in the sanctuary will not be distracted by blinds moving and little kids peeking out at them! It's a big, honkin' picture of Jesus as we often think of Him as the Good Shepherd.
